Seafield House Art Print
Seafield House, also known as ‘The Haunted House’ is a well known and much loved building in Westward Ho! The artist herself has been intrigued by the building since childhood. She often just peered over the wall to look at the once kept immaculate garden with trepidation in case anyone or anything was watching from the windows of the house, as for years the house has held a certain mystery about it and of course there is always the question if ‘is it haunted’?
Seafield house is believed to have been built in approximately 1885. It has been a family home, a bed and breakfast establishment, accommodation for British officers during the war years. Now it is somewhat more derelict and with the cliff erosion, there is not as much land surrounding the house as there once was but this only adds to its character and intrigue.
The artist has tried to capture the house over the years showing some of the features that once existed as well as including some of the derelict features as they appear today.
Now under new ownership we all await to see what the next chapter will look like for Seafield House. Hopefully, as I’m sure it will, it will continue to retain its character and appeal and be as loved by the next generation as it has been for so many to date. - All prints are signed by the artist and printed using Archival Matte Paper which is acid free.
- All my location paintings are painted from scratch on my iPad in the exact same way I would paint or draw on a piece of paper. They are not photos.
- Please Note :Due to the fact that monitors often display colour, contrast and brightness differently, the print may appear slightly different to how it looks on your monitor.
